The Gulgong airstrip was owned and operated by Cudgegong Soaring Pty. Ltd. (ABN 51 002 644 617), a private company whose shareholders were glider pilots and sports aviation enthusiasts. As of June 2015 the property, including the airstrip, hangars and other facilities, has been sold to private owners. The intention of the new owners is for the airstrip to continue to operate as a general sports aviation facility. The new owners will set out details of their operational plans for the site in the near future.

As of May 2014 the Cudegong Soaring Club was wound up and regular gliding operations under Gliding Federation of Australia delegated authority ceased.

Flying operations under independent pilot or aviation Club authority are still active.
